Accountant / Bookkeeper
Responsible for handling the fundamental aspects of a the organization's financial record keeping, including recording financial transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and completing annual tax forms.
Responsible for developing and writing grant proposals to foundations and other grant-making organizations, and will persuasively communicate our mission and programs to potential funders. The Grant Writer will assemble and submit grant requests, establish and maintain personal contact and relationships with foundation contacts, conduct prospect research, and maintain a calendar of submissions and other deadlines.
Responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, and supporting the applications and systems. Primary applications used are EventBrite and Whova. Supports mobile applications. Help design a mobile network infrastructure at events for internet connectivity.
Responsible for prospecting for and securing contributions. Pitches benefits of partnership and advertising to prospect, negotiates prices, and explains client needs to copywriter.
Responsible for overseeing communications to the media, including preparing articles, press kits, press releases, and other content initiatives. Cultivates and manages relationships with media representatives.
Social Media Specialist
Responsible for daily posts/tweets to all applicable social media outlets. Other duties include coordinating the marketing calendar with online activity, tracking social media influence measurements, ensure proper online messaging and relevancy, ensuring consistency of messages across multiple networks, preparing reports to update internal staff on usage statistics, and continuous monitoring and coverage of all sites
Responsible for brainstorming, creating, and transforming ideas into words for articles, advertisements, publications, and pamphlets. Writes words and text for television commercials, radio, Internet content, jingles, websites, press releases, flyers, and direct mail literature.
Event Coordinator - Guinness Record / MerFolk Gathering
Responsible for overseeing and managing activities of the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS event at Mermaid MegaFest. Coordinates project phases from planning to execution. Acts as liaison between Guinness, local government agencies, public safety organizations, and festival participants. Coordinates with other volunteers ensures all event goals and objectives are reached.
Event Coordinator - Geocache / Search for Atlantis
Responsible for developing a Cache In Trash Out® (CITO) event for the festival. (CITO) is an environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. Example CITO events are picking up trash, removing invasive species, planting native vegetation, building trails, and more! The host plans the event based on your community’s needs.
Responsible for managing the pre-conference registration of participants for events for which company provides registration and event management services. Serve as a member of the Conference Management Team providing onsite registration and support services. Responsible for maintaining festival participant records.
Responsible for coordination and leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of a variety of services focused on ensuring the safety and security of the festival participants. Also responsible for coordinating multi-agency responses to some type of incident.
Product Sales Manager
Responsible for design, procurement and sales of logo branded merchandise, both online and in a retail setting. Products include t-shirts, outerwear, reusable water bottles, beach towels and paraphernalia, such as phone covers, keychains, and jewelry.
Facilities Coordinator / Venues
Responsible for managing all aspects of venue planning and management for the various festival events, such as swimming pools, parks, pavilions, campgrounds, harbors and running courses. Responsibilities include meeting with potential activity sites to work out event details, plan with the event coordinator, scout and book locations, food, entertainment, staff and cleanup. The Event Coordinator also creates event proposals and presenting proposals to prospective venue site owners.
Responsible for promoting the festival to other business enterprises. Develop business partnerships and alliances. Cultivates and manages relationships within the business community.
